Thu, September 2, 2010 - CODE ENFORCEMENT HEARINGS SET FOR SEPTEMBER 9TH TO BE RESCHEDULED
The Landrieu administration announced today that all Code Enforcement hearings originally scheduled for Thursday, September 9, 2010, will be rescheduled for Thursday, September 16 at 9:15 am. The hearings will be held at 1340 Poydras Street in Suite 1100.

Wed, September 1, 2010 - CITY HALL TO CLOSE ON FRIDAY FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND
The Landrieu administration announced today that City Hall and all business offices will be closed on Friday, September 3, 2010, as a citywide furlough day in advance of Labor Day weekend. The Friday before Labor Day is traditionally a low traffic day, and therefore, the effect on operations will be minimal.

Tue, August 31, 2010 - MAYOR LANDRIEU DRAMATICALLY REDUCES TAKE HOME CARS
Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced results of a new take-home car policy for city employees that will take effect September 1, 2010. The new policy, which ensures the take-home cars are given only to those full-time employees who need them to carry out essential city services on a 24-hour basis, results in a total decrease of 464 vehicles allowed to be taken home by City employees.

At a press conference discussing the state of New Orleans five years after Hurricane Katrina, Mayor Mitch Landrieu today invited the public to commemorate the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina on Sunday, August 29, by joining him in an evening gathering at Washington Artillery Park, in front of the St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square.

Governor Bobby Jindal and Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced today that the state has committed $30 million in Community Development Block Grant funds to ensure that a network of primary care and behavioral health clinics remain open in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes, upon approval from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Today, Mayor Landrieu announced that the City of New Orleans has successfully renegotiated the SDT Waste & Debris Services, LLC sanitation contract. Under the new agreement, the French Quarter and Downtown Development District will receive the same level of services at a 25% cost reduction, saving the city $110,000 a month and $1.32 million annually, from an annual cost of $5.16 million to $3.84 million
