MOVING LAFITTE GREENWAY FORWARD
 Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that the City of New Orleans has acquired a 16.5 acre parcel of land for use in conjunction with the development of the future Lafitte Greenway, a 3.1-mile linear park extending from Armstrong Park near the French Quarter to Canal Boulevard near City Park.

MAYOR WELCOMES FRONTIER AIRLINES
 Mayor Landrieu welcomes the return of Frontier Airlines to Louis Armstrong International Airport. The airline launched a new nonstop service between New Orleans and Kansas City International Airport (MCI) with one daily roundtrip flight.

DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE PARTNERS WITH NOPD
 Mayor Mitch Landrieu has made great strides in tackling crime and making our streets safe during his first two weeks in office. Most recently he announced a partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice to help support reform of the New Orleans Police Department. Mayor Landrieu, federal officials, Chief Serpas and Susan Hutson, the newly-selected Independent Police Monitor, met to discuss plans with stakeholders on Monday, May 17th.

GULF OIL SPILL MEETING
 Mayor Mitch Landrieu hosted a community meeting focused on businesses and workers who have been or may be impacted by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on Tuesday, May 18th. He was joined by officials with the Small Business Administration, Louisiana Workforce Commission, Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, and others to talk about the Gulf oil slick and its fallout.

HONDURAN PRESIDENT VISITS NEW ORLEANS
 The President of Honduras and his Secretary of Public Works, Transportation and Housing arrived in New Orleans on Saturday. President Porfirio Lobo Sosa met with Mayor Nagin to discuss a variety of topics, including education, healthcare, emergency response and crime prevention.
